The terrace is the heart of the house—a place for slow mornings, sun-filled afternoons, and peaceful moments shaped by changing light throughout the year.
Built in the 1950s and carefully renovated, the house offers modern comfort while keeping its original character.
It’s a place to slow down, enjoy privacy, and experience Madeira as it is—lived-in, grounded, and real. Cosy, simple, and unpretentious—ideal for guests who enjoy both everyday local life and nature, and who value authenticity and a relaxed local rhythm over polished, resort-style perfection. Guests have full access to the entire house, including the terrace and outdoor areas around the home. The house is located in a residential neighbourhood above the city.
A nearby church marks the day with bell ringing, reflecting the local rhythm of Madeiran life. Access is on foot via a short uphill path with stairs, typical for hillside homes in Funchal, creating a strong sense of privacy and a truly local feel. Around the house, fruit trees grow as part of everyday Madeira life, and at certain times of year guests may notice bananas, tangerines, or passion fruit.
Occasionally, a ripe avocado from a neighbouring tree appears—a small, friendly neighbourhood detail. Public transport, a local restaurant, and a small park are all within walking distance.
