Knebel is a small town on Djursland, located on the western side of the Mols peninsula at Knebel Vig under Knebel Parish. The southern district that lies along the coast is called Knebel Bro. In the southern part of the city is Knebel Church, a Romanesque building built around the year 1175, on a hilltop overlooking the cove. The church has a very small tower, which is more like a gable than a tower. In the late 1990s, the nave and the altar were decorated inside by the artist Bjørn Nørgaard.
Approx. 1 kilometer east of the city along Porskærvej you will find Porskær Stenhus, one of Denmark's largest round dykes. It is believed to originate from the Neolithic around the year 3000 BC. and has a diameter of 20 m. Dyssen is located in the highly hilly Mols Bjerge, whose heath and moraine landscape rises a few hundred meters east of the town.
From Knebel, it is just under 12 kilometers to Rønde, 16 to Sletterhage on Helgenæs and just under 17 to Ebeltoft.
